A YEAR GONE BY

Once you were a tiny baby
Now you're growing taller
And becoming such a big girl
Smiling at a familiar face
Laughing at silly things
Or maybe sharing a joke with an imaginary friend
Hugs are your specialty
It's been a year since your birth
You've accomplished so much
Standing on your own
Determined to walk first
But eventually you learned to crawl
Eating food on your own
Playing with toys by yourself
Many said you would walk first
And it didn't tae long
To make those first steps
Oh, how you beamed as you moved those little feet
Life's road begins with a step
And you have begun your journey
