Memory Tree
MEMORY TREE

No matter the years gone by
No matter the broken hearts we've mended
No matter the fights between friends
No matter the troubles within a family
No matter the joys of life
No matter the jokes that bring laughter
No matter the tears that shed
No matter the many obstacles we hop over in life
No matter the bridges we cross
No matter the distance between two close friends
No matter the tragedies we face
No matter the pains of adulthood
No matter the dreams we wish
No matter the marriages that fall apart
No matter the ones that keep their eternal love going
No matter the seasons that change each year
No matter what life brings...
The memory tree outside my window brings the gift of happiness
It reminds me of childish games played long ago
It shows me a path that connected me to a true best friend
It's old and tall
But, oh, the stories it could tell
Through me and my friend it speaks
